Encounter Documented on Incorrect Patient Account

To move encounter documentation to the correct patient account:

  1. Schedule an appointment for the correct patient
  2. In the correct encounter, manually enter the information found in the encounter sections of the incorrect encounter
  3. Delete any orders associated with the encounter for the incorrect patient
  4. Re-enter orders into correct patient encounter
  5. Remove incorrect diagnosis that were added to the patient's Problems section
  6. Once all information has been moved to the correct encounter, close the correct encounter
  7. Delete the incorrect encounter
