This is for Receiving computers for vendors to log into Simplr. The computer should be set to automatically log in to a local account called Vendor. If they do not then the Reg Key needs to be checked, and if it was deleted it needs to be created. Here is how to do so:
To use Registry Editor to turn on automatic logon, follow these steps:
- Select Start, and then select Run.
- In the Open box, type Regedit.exe, and then press
Enter. - Locate the
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon subkey in the registry. - On the Edit menu, select New, and then point to String Value.
- Type AutoAdminLogon, and then press
Enter. - Double-click AutoAdminLogon.
- In the Edit String dialog box, type 1 and then select OK.
- Double-click the DefaultUserName entry, type your user name, and then select OK.
- Double-click the DefaultPassword entry, type your password, and then select OK.
If the DefaultPassword value doesn't exist, it must be added. To add the value, follow these steps:- On the Edit menu, select New, and then point to String Value.
- Type DefaultPassword, and then press
Enter. - Double-click DefaultPassword.
- In the Edit String dialog, type your password and then select OK.
- Select Start, select Restart
Note
If DefaultDomainName data field is filled out it will try and use an AD account credentials. So this doesn't work with a local account. That RegKey needs to be left blank so it will use the defaultusername and default password reg keys. ALSO sometimes windows deletes these settings so you have to add them as mentioned above. However, Windows will save a reg key called AutoLogonSID. This is the cached credentials for the previous Vendor profile. Meaning if you want to change the password that reg key will prevent it from being anything else.
For the record as well, the password is up on BitWarden under Vendor Simplr computer login
