This procedure has worked for Westfield and South, NW may be different

DOWNTIME Computer Instructions and LogIn

· If there is a total network outage and you need to go to Downtime Procedures, go to computer and REMOVE the blue ethernet cord in the back of the computer (behind the monitor)

· PLUG IN the Grey ethernet cord that says “DOWNTIME” in place of the blue cord. **This is because the regular ethernet will still feed some connection to the domain, and NetSafe under downtime user doesn't work on it. There is a specific port for this cable that is also labeled Downtime. This should also connect to an ATT device back in the closet.**

· Then in the username field to login put this “.\meditechdowntime” (without the “ “) (.\ is important, don’t forget it)

· For the password you will have to call IT at x4357 or on your cellphone the number is 317-917-4357 as the password needs to be changed after each use. (IT should know this, but they may have to remote in to once the network is back up to change the PW, Computer name is on the computer itself: WFDIOH105046. PW is in BitWarden under Meditech Downtime

· Once logged in, open NetSafe

· Next to “Authentication Type:” It should say “Client Login Backup”

· Then the username is : downtime

· The password is: downtime

· Once done with downtime procedures, remember to take out the Downtime ethernet cord and plug back in the blue ethernet cord.

As noted earlier, the password needs to change on the machine after each use of downtime. This has to be done locally, so the network will have to be back up to do so, otherwise there may be a way to run a script through Tanium to change it each time.
